(Click on the cauldron to see what bubbled out on last year's race!)

What could be better than running through a cemetery on Halloween night?? Trunk or Treating while running through a cemetery on Halloween night!!

The run/walk will start near the base of the Michael Sonnemaker statue and then wind past the mausoleums and monuments in Springdale.

(Don't be afraid - all the spooks and goblins are trick-or-treating elsewhere.) Along the way there will be trunk or treat stations to fill your goodie bag!

There will also be a Virtual Ghosting Trot - for those who prefer to haunt in their own graveyards.

The Illinois Valley Striders are hosting a virtual run to honor 9-11. This run will be open to run/walk either 9.11 miles or 9.11 kilometers virtually in an effort to remember those lost on 9-11-2001 and the first responders that we have lost on and since that tragic day. The run can be completed anytime and anywhere from September 4, 2020 through September 13, 2020. The first 50 registrants will get an awesome tube bandanna with the race graphic.  The proceeds from this race will go to Run to Remember and COPS to honor our first responders.  We hope you will join us so that no American will forget the sacrifice and loss on that day.  Registration and/or donation.

    Stay At Home Steamboat Start

    IVS Members and Friends,

We are in an uncertain time.  It is important that we maintain social distance and self-quarantines to protect ourselves and our families.  Many of us are working at home or furloughed, which adds to our worries.  Illinois Valley Striders may not be at the top of your mind right now - but remember that this time will pass.  While it is here - you have a choice to either give up on your goals or to redouble your efforts.  You can come out of this stronger and better prepared than ever before and Illinois Valley Striders wants to help you work toward that goal.

Set a small goal and then crush it.  Set a bigger goal and crush that.

Shelter-in-place allows for essential activities – keeping fit is essential.  Trails are still open, but if you can’t leave your house – be that person who runs a marathon on their patio, and share it with the IVS community!

When the shelter-in-place order is lifted - races will begin again.  Every week IVS will send out a Wednesday training plan that focuses on getting people moving and able to finish the 4 Mile Steamboat course.  Share this plan with your friends and family – and share your challenges and triumphs on the IVS Facebook page.
