Team Steam is at Woodruff High School in Peoria. It is every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 PM, so you should show up ready to run around 5:45 PM. Park in the Woodruff HS parking lot across from the Glen Oak Park. You will see other runners in the area. TS runners will gather near the baseball field just before 6 PM to listen to the coaches. TS meets rain or shine. Water is provided. They will run a warm up before the workout. The workout will be over in about 60 to 90 minutes. There will be breaks between workouts.

Building Steam Wednesday at 6 PM at the RiverPlex on the Peoria Riverfront. Get there just before 6 PM...they meet in the gym. Parking is free! Be ready to run, rain or shine.

The IVS is in need of a couple of finish line captains. This easy to learn, but very important task is essential for area races to be possible. Our members are very generous with their time and talent. Getting volunteers are never a problem. A finish line captains main responsibility is to let the membership know via website when and where help is needed for the 2 or 3 races you are the captain. It takes 7 to 10 finish line volunteers for each race. Training is provided and you will find this to be enjoyable experience. Please contact Jim McIntyre at 694-6710 or tri-mac@sbcglobal.net

The IVS May Newsletter is in the Member's Only Area

Nancie Margetis competed again at the Lincoln National Guard Marathon in Lincoln, NE. Conditions were near perfect with clear skies and cool temperatures. Her time of 3:23:07 was a 5 min. PR and good for 17th OA female and 1st masters. She easily made the National Guard running team again placing 5th for the women. The race was also the RRCA state marathon championship. Congratulations for an outstanding performance.
